The Pinnacle Fort Hike
What you'll do
On an early morning, we will leave the chaos of the city and climb one of our favorite mountains near Mumbai.
The mountain is home to an exciting abandoned rocky pinnacle fort & offers the best and the most authentic Maharashtrain food in the state.
After only 1.5 hrs travel time from the city, we find ourselves at the base of this mountain & within the wilderness.
Soon, we begin our hike and reach a tiny hill-top village that is placed midway to the summit. The village is home to a population of 200 tribal people & is accessible only on foot. This is where we will stop for a quick breakfast, some refreshments & most importantly a soothing hot cup of chai (tea) made by the tribals.
After this, we will continue our hike towards the 2300 ft summit after climbing numerous hand-carved bastion rock-cut steps that were carved a few centuries ago when the pinnacle was used as a fort by a number of empires.
On arrival at the summit, we will relax and breathe in the majestic scenery that the pinnacle offers.
For lunch, we will hike back to the village for a wholesome & scrumptious meal.
After a satisfying lunch & interaction with the tribals, we will head down & travel back to the city just the way we arrived.

Spent the day hiking through a local village and climbing to a fort with Johann. I can’t stress how great this experience was for me and my girlfriend. This literally made our India trip. It was also great to get out of the bustle of the city! If you are visiting Mumbai this is something you need to checkout! Johann is an amazing guide!

Right from the beginning when I showed my interest on message to the last minute Johann see us off after the trek, I think everything was so well communicated, and every query or assistance of any kind was promptly and proficiently taken care of. I was traveling alone so had some apprehensions. But the team was fun, chill and still very professional in handling every bit of the trek. Any first timers, you have nothing to worry about, so take the leap with them, and anyone who likes seamless experience don't look anywhere else. My absolute favorite! Thanks guys.

Absolutely amazing! Johann and his colleague, Sam, lead us on this hike and it was far better than my wife and I expected. First, he was able to accommodate us on a day midweek that fit our busy schedule and even arranged a driver so we could have more free time afterwards. Not only was the hike challenging and beautiful, but Johann knows the members of the small tribal community part way up the mountain. We got to enjoy traditional homemade food and see inside the homes where the villagers live and work. He was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and speaks excellent English, which makes him perfectly suited for hosting foreign travelers like us. Johann provided a memorable experience and we would absolutely book with him again. I cannot recommend enough this experience.

For our guests convenience, we put all arrangements in place that a guest may require for the entire experience, right from door to destination and back again. We can arrange for an air conditioned vehicle to pick up & drop, packed meals, adventure gear, and a lot more.
